Terms of use

These are the terms for using MarkMyVerse. They are short and in plain language, because the site is simple and free. By using it, you are agreeing to what is written here.

What MarkMyVerse is. MarkMyVerse is a free tool for tracking your Bible reading, verse by verse. It is offered as it is, for your personal use. The scripture text comes from public domain translations. The site is run by BRIM CONSULTING LLC.

It is free, and it may change. There is no charge to use the site, and there are no ads. Because it is a small, free service, it can change, and parts of it may be added, altered, or taken away over time. We may also need to take it offline for maintenance or stop offering it. If a change affects your account or your saved reading, we will try to make that clear.

Your account. You do not need an account to use the site. If you create one, it is so your reading can sync across your devices. Keep your sign-in details to yourself, and use an email address that is yours. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time from the account menu, and doing so removes the reading progress stored with it on our server.

Fair use of the service. Please use MarkMyVerse for its purpose: reading and tracking scripture. Do not try to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the site or its data, and do not use it to do anything unlawful or to interfere with anyone else's use of it.

Your reading and your requests are yours. Your reading progress belongs to you. While you are signed in it is stored so your devices can load it, and it is locked to your account, as described in the privacy policy. A prayer request you send goes only to the site owner's inbox so someone can pray for you, and it is never posted publicly.

No warranty. MarkMyVerse is provided as it is, without warranties of any kind. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error free, or that your saved reading can never be lost. Keeping your own backup, using the backup feature, is a good idea.

Limits. To the extent the law allows, BRIM CONSULTING LLC is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site, including any loss of saved reading progress. The site is a reading tracker and nothing more.

Changes to these terms. If these terms change, the updated version will be posted on this page, with the date below updated. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, in the United States, without regard to its conflict of law rules.
