Privacy

This is the whole privacy policy, and it is short because there is still very little to say.

Your reading stays on your device by default. When you tick a verse, it is saved in your own browser's local storage on the device you are using. If you never sign in, it stays there and is never sent anywhere, and we cannot see what you have read.

An account is optional, and only for syncing. You do not need an account to use any part of the site. If you would like your progress to follow you between your phone, tablet, and computer, you can create a free account. While you are signed in, your reading progress is saved to our database so your other devices can load it. It is tied to your account and locked to it: the database is set so that only you, signed in, can read your own row, and the site owner does not read it. Your email address is used only to sign you in and to send you account emails, such as a confirmation or a password reset. Nothing about your reading is ever sold, shared, or shown to anyone else, and there are no ads.

What syncs, and what does not. Signing in syncs your reading: the verses you have marked, your bookmarks, your reading days, your plan and goal, and where you left off. Device-only preferences, such as your text size and any prompts you have dismissed, stay on the device and are never uploaded.

Deleting your account. You can delete your account at any time from the account menu. Deleting it removes your account and the reading progress stored with it on our server. The copy saved in the browser on the device in your hand stays until you clear it, so signing out or deleting your account never wipes the device you are holding.

No tracking, no analytics, no tracking cookies. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers.

You are in control of your backups. The backup image and code are generated in your browser and only leave your device if you choose to download or share them. They contain which verses you have read, nothing more, and nothing about who you are.

Hosting and our providers. The site itself is static files served by our host. Accounts and sync run on Supabase, which stores the reading progress of signed-in users on our behalf. Standard server request logs, such as your IP address, may be processed by these providers to serve the page and run the service, as with any website.

Prayer requests are a separate choice. A prayer request is different from your reading, because you are choosing to send it to us. When you submit one, it goes only to the site owner's inbox so someone can pray for you. It is never posted publicly, shown to other visitors, or used for anything else. Your name and email are optional, and you only need to add them if you would like a reply. To deliver your request to that inbox it passes through our form provider (Netlify); your reading progress is never part of it.
